NAAC COORDINATOR
Dr.V.RAMADAS,M.Sc., M.Sc (Yoga)., M.Phil., M.Ed., Ph.D., MISTE.
Dr .V.Ramadas M.Sc., M.Phil., M.Ed., M.Sc (Yoga), Ph.D is a Associate Professor and Head, Department of Zoology. He has assumed the charge of the Coordinator of NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) of the college from Ocotber, 2023 in order to institute IQAC and to prepare the college for the forthcoming Provisional Accreditation (PAC) leading to apply for Regular NAAC. He has obtained Ph.D Degree in the field of Marine Science, he is an expert in coastal studies and has worked extensively on the endangered coral reefs and their associated fishes in the Gulf of Mannar.
He has produced 22 M.Phil and 15 Ph.D candidates in the field of Zoology, Biochemistry, Marine Biotechnology, Marine Microbiology, Environmental Science and Socioeconomics of fisherfolk. Currently five students are pursuing Ph.D. under his guidance. He has 27 years of rich experience in teaching and 22 years of research experience. He has obtained research grant from various government funding agencies and carried out research projects. He has published so far 110 research articles in reputed national and international journals. He has acted as resource person and delivered Lectures in various academic seminars and conferences. Currently he is serving as a member of Zoology Board of studies in Madurai Kamaraj Univeristy, Madurai.
He has also served as member of Zoology Board of Studies in Madura College, Madurai, V.H.N.S.N College, Virudhunagar and member of board of studies in Microbiology and Food and Diary Technology of Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College, Madurai. Besides, he has been acting as examiner in many arts and science colleges for both theory and Practical Examinations. He is also serving as coordinator for UGC and member in various mandatory committees of this college. Besides, his academic and administrative contributions to this institution are quite appreciable.
