On behalf of the Students and staff of Government Arts and Science College (Co-educational institution), Sivakasi, I thank you for visiting our college website. Our college is an ideal destination for pursuing higher education and in it’s a decade of relentless service; it has its own tradition and reputation without any compromise in quality. Our vision is developing the total personality of the economically backward students and nurturing them in to a committed, knowledgeable and socially responsible citizen. Our mission is to provide higher education to economically backward students and to empower them with knowledge and skills at an affordable cost. Especially to prepare them fit in the competitive job market. Our college focuses on the best practices to improve quality and to exceed the excellence in innovations. The emblem of our college is comprises of temple tower, burning lamp, an open book, world with a convocation cap on it. The Motto- Knowledge, Discipline, and Excellence inscribed at the bottom of the emblem. The open book in the emblem stands for endless knowledge. The burning lamp (Diya) symbolizes the enlightenment of mind and wisdom that comes from knowledge. The open book in the emblem signifies the importance of formal education. Thus our college is the spring of knowledge and wisdom that enriches the downtrodden society. The sparkling of fireworks at the background indicates that the college is located in Sivakasi. The cap signifies the knowledge the students have gained which will equip them to lead their life in this world. The circle of our emblem signifies the institutional unity that exists amongst the students, teachers and all other members of this institution. By creating the right synergy between our students, parents, teachers and non teaching staff, we hope to take our college to greater heights. The achievements gained by the students of our college in curricular (University Rank) and co-curricular activities in the past ten years reflect the quality of performance and the effective implementation of quality concepts as they serve as a launch pad to exceed the excellence. This consistent academic success of our college in getting University Rank is an endorsement for the strategic planning, perseverance and farsightedness of the Faculty Members of the College.
