About the Department
The Department of Computer Science was established in the academic year 2013-2014 and it offers UG and PG Course. B.Sc. Computer Science programme was started in the academic year 2013-2014 with a sanctioned strength of 40 students and M.Sc. Computer Science programme in the academic year 2017-2018 with a sanctioned strength of 25 students. The faculty strength of the department is 9 and 4 are doctoral degree holders. With their rich experience and dedicated service, they cater the needs of the students in various activities such as academic, personal, social and placements. The faculties also enhance their research experience by publishing papers in reputed National Journals & International Journals. They equip themselves by attending Workshops, FDP and Seminar. To its credit, the department own 38 computers with UPS backup and provides well equipped lab facilities to their students. The Computer Lab has well trained programmer to maintain systems for ready use. The lab system is updated frequently based on the current syllabus to cater the needs of the students in turn to get placement in software industries. The Department Library has more than 1000 books to enrich students’ knowledge. The Library also facilitates the students to read national and international journals for updating their technical skills meet out the current software industrial scenario. The Students are given exposure to latest techniques including Big Data Analytics, Image Processing, and Soft Computing, Internet of Things, etc. through workshops, guest lecturer and seminars periodically arranged by the department. The department has close interaction with nearby small software industry in the city and students carry out projects in association with them.
