About the Department
The Department of Mathematics was started in the academic year 2013-2014 and offering B.Sc Mathematics Programme with a sanctioned strength of 60 students while the college had been launched. The Department of Mathematics is functioning in the second floor of the main block. The M.Sc. Mathematics Programme was introduced in the academic year 2017 – 2018 with a sanctioned strength of 36 students. The Department has 10 well qualified experienced eminent staff members and 4 among them are doctoral degree holders. Also they are dedicated and make remarkable contributions to the welfare of the students that causes the growth and success of the Department. The Department of Mathematics is also offering ancillary Mathematics for B.Sc. Physics and B.Sc Chemistry Programmes from the academic year 2017 – 2018. The Department is mainly focusing on teaching mathematical innovation and creativity among the students community. The faculty members of the department have rich research experience in several areas of Mathematics, guiding Ph.D scholars and having publications in National and International journals. The Department Library has so many collections of Mathematical books, competitive examination related books such as TNPSC Group Examination, RRB SLET/SET/NET, SSC, Banking etc. The curriculum lead in progress of the current subjects such as, Algebra, Analysis, Differential Equation, Mechanics, Graph Theory, Fuzzy set theory, Number Theory, Probability and Statistics, Operations Research etc. The Department also provides the modern teaching tools such as LCD projector, online links etc.. In addition, students are provided with online job oriented programs offered through NAAN MUDHALVAN SCHEME by Government of Tamil Nadu.
