About the Department
The Department of English was established in the academic year 2013-2014, and offering B.A. programme with a sanctioned strength of 60 students. The M.A. programme was offered from the academic year 2017-2018 with a sanctioned strength of 36 students. The faculty strength of the department is 16 and 6 are Doctoral degree holders. The department has registered a growth, right from its inception in UG from 2013. The department library has latest books catering to the needs of both UG and PG students. It has well qualified, experienced and dedicated members of staff showing remarkable contributions for the growth and success of the department.The department is disseminating the students many skill based education with innovative syllabi enabling either to pursue their higher education or job opportunities. The Department makes every possible effort to impart valued teaching in order to mould the students from rural area. Modernization of education with latest technology is practiced through the use of audio visual aids, equipments like LCD Projector. Computer and Internet facilities are also made available for doing research and teaching. Realizing the need of the Post Graduate students of higher-level understanding and preparing them for competitive examinations like TNPSC, SLET, NET, etc. special coaching sessions are arranged accordingly.
